Zhiben R&D Center consists of 80 professionals from the field of material technology, product research, industrial design, graphic design, packaging design, structural design, ID & MD, mold design and manufacturing, equipment customization, technology upgrade etc., provides continuous innovation in the production and application of environmentally friendly materials for consumers, enterprises, and industries.

Zhiben R & D Center is located in Tangxia, Dongguan, an important industrial town next to Shenzhen, which covers an area of 32,000 square meters and has an investment over 80 million Yuan. It is an open vertical supply chain construction industrial system such as research, discovery, and plant fiber application scenarios.

So far we have finished over 500 kinds of mold designs and products manufacture, and provide consumers and enterprises with innovative applications of environmentally friendly materials.

Custom Designed Molded Pulp Products & Engineered Packaging Solutions

For our custom designed molded pulp products, we use advanced 3D computer aided design (CAD) systems and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) system which enable us to produce precise visual images of molds and the parts produced by the mold. We utilize Solidworks for CAD, CAE and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator for graphic interpretation. These state-of-the-art tools allow us to produce creative and innovative designs from initial concept through manufacturing. Every product we design is tailor-made for the specifications of the project. Everything, from initial design through prototyping and manufacturing, is customized for your specific needs.

Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE)

Manufacturing processes that require changing the molding tool or breaking the tool can lead to high production cost for the product. This can be solved by implementing CAE and rapid tooling techniques in production. The philosophy of rapid prototyping using CAE tooling requires a database to be created for generic pulp mold properties, all the properties such as wall thickness, height of structural unit etc. are inputs in the database. This helps the designer to identify the basic properties of a structural unit. Once the basic properties are known, a modular design approach can be implemented for production of the molded pulp packaging. The method is claimed to be better and more cost efficient than the conventional method of tooling processes for molded pulp packaging.

Step-by-Step Detail

After we have an approved design, we progress to prototyping the application. This process takes weeks to complete and deliver to our customer. It is at this time that the application can be tested and if necessary, any changes to the design can be made. After approval, we head into pilot run and then full scale manufacturing.

As the leader in application of plant fibers, Zhiben group keep up with keen industrial and market insights, be strict with itself for being industrial benchmark, inspiring individuals, enterprises and organizations’ sustainable thinking, leading the ones with environmental protection dreams to achieve sustainability strategic updating as well as excellent business value.
